Since the inception of the WHO Emergency Medical Teams (EMT) Initiative, five Global Meetings have been held to gather the global community of national and international EMT organizations, Member States and partners to advance the Initiative, and to foster mutual collaboration and support. The first four global meetings in Geneva, Panama City, Hong Kong, and Bangkok were mainly aimed at creating the momentum for the development of a global network. Subsequently, with an established and growing global network, and increasing reach and impact in its work, the last EMT Global Meeting in Yerevan, Armenia in 2022 saw the launch of the landmark EMT 2030 Strategy.
